Antimicrobial  Resistance (AMR) occurs when bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites  change over time and no longer respond to medicines making infections  harder to treat and increasing the risk of disease spread, severe illness and death. 

We support Antibiotic Stewardship which is defined by the CDC as the effort to measure and improve how antibiotics are prescribed by clinicians and used by patients.  Improving antibiotic stewardship and use is critical to effectively treat infections.
